On a PC with one flexible disk drive,
Drive 1
(the top drive) will be set to
3.5 inch, 1.44
MB
, and
Drive 2
set to
None
.
If you have installed an optional flexible disk drive that uses the integrated disk interface,
ensure that SETUP has detected the drive. If you have installed an optional flexible disk
drive that has its own controller board, set the
Interface
field to
Controller Board
.
Configure the controller board as described in its manual.
If you have two flexible disk drives, set one as the
Bootable Drive
. This is the drive the
PC uses to start (boot) from a system diskette.
Configuring SCSI Hard Disk Drives
If you have installed an optional SCSI hard disk drive, configure it in SETUP.
To configure an IDE hard disk drive:
1. If your PC has no IDE hard disk drives, in the “IDE Hard Disk Drives Interface” section,
both the
Drive 1
and
Drive 2
fields will be set to
None
or
SCSI
.
2. If your PC has one IDE hard disk drive already installed, check that the
Drive 1
field is
set to
Configured
and the
Drive 2
field is set to
None
or
SCSI
.
3. In the
Integrated SCSI Interface
group, check the
Integrated Interface
field is set to
Enabled
.
4. Highlight the
SCSI BIOS
field, and check it is set to
Enabled
.
Configuring IDE Hard Disk Drives
If you have installed an IDE hard disk drive, configure it in SETUP.
To configure an IDE hard disk drive:
1. A primary drive (Drive 1) uses the long IDE cable; a secondary drive (Drive 2) uses the
short IDE cable. Check the corresponding
Drive 1
or
Drive 2
field is set to
Configured
.
