Problems on the Road
Your vehicle has a remote
negative (-) battery terminal.
The remote negative (

)
terminal (marked
GND)
is
located near the front of the
engine compartment.

diagram in Section

to locate
the remote terminaL
Always use the remote
negative earth location instead
of the terminal on your
vehicle's battery.

To access your vehicle's
positive terminal, you will
need to open the cover.

Check that the jumper leads
don't have any loose or miss
ing insulation.
If they do, you
could get a shock and the
vehicles could be damaged.
Do not connect positive ( +) to
negative (
-
) or you will get a
short that would damage the
battery and possibly other
parts .
Do not connect the negative
(
-
) lead to the negative (-) ter
minal on the flat battery be
cause this can cause sparks.
7.
Connect the positive ( +)
(red) lead to the positive ( +)
terminal on the flat battery.
Use the remote positive ( +)
terminal if the vehicle has
one.
8.
Don't let the other end touch
metal, then connect it to the
positive ( +) terminal of the
good battery.
Use the remote positive ( +)
terminal if the vehicle has one.
