Top Strap 

A child  restraint may have a top 
strap. 

Some top  strap-fitted  child 

restraints are designed for use with 
or  without  the  too  strao  beina 
anchored.  Other

restraint is  properly  installed, 
using the vehicle's safety  belts 
to  secure  the restraint.  Follow 
the instructions that come with 
the restraint.

Child restraints that require the top 
strap to  be anchored can only be 
used in rear seating positions. There 
are  no top strap anchor fittings 
available for front seating positions.

CAUTION 

Each top  strap  anchor  fitting  is 

designed  to  anchor only one 

child restraint.  Attaching  more 

than  one  child  restraint to  a 
single  anchor fitting  could 
cause  the  anchor  fitting  to 

come loose  or even  break 
during a collision.  A child or 
others may be injured.  To 

prevent injury to people and 
damage  to  the  vehicle,  attach 
only one child restraint per 
anchor  fitting.
