Anti-lock Brake System
The anti-lock brake system helps
you maintain directional stability
on wet or slippery road surfaces. It
automatically controls the brake
operation when braking.
This occurs only during a brake
application which would have
caused one or more wheels to
lock. You don't have to 'pump' the
brakes. just hold the brake pedal
down. You may feel or hear it
pulsate, but this is normal.
See "Anti-lock Brake System
Warning Light" in Section
1
for
more information.
Park Brake
The park brake handle is located
near the left side of the steering
column. The handle is used to set
and release the park brake.
To set the park brake, hold the
regular brake pedal down and pull
the park brake handle all the way
out.
If the park brake is applied and the
vehicle speed is greater than
5
km/h (3 mph) for at least
3 seconds, the brake system
warning light will flash and a
warning chime will sound .
