Water handling

Fi and ET
Fi and ET are displayed after one breath and have a continuously
updated breath average.
The following methods are used to calculate end-tidal (ET) values:
- CO
2
: The highest concentration of CO
2
during one breathing cycle
with a weight function applied to favor values closer to the end of the
cycle.
- O
2
: The highest/lowest concentration of O
2
during the expiratory
phase (depending on whether ETO
2
is higher or lower than FiO
2
).
- N
2
O and anesthetic agents: The momentary gas concentration at the
time point where ETCO
2
is detected.
ET will typically decrease below nominal value (ET

No span calibration is required for the IR bench. An automatic
Zeroing is performed typically 1 to 3 times per day.
