Battery
Safety rules
Warning
Carefully read the relevant
safety regulations before working on
the battery (Sect. A 3). When under
charge, batteries produce explosive
gases. Keep batteries away from heat
sources, sparks or open flames.
Instructions for use
This is a sealed-type maintenance-
free battery, therefore, apart from
charging, it does not require any
further operations before being
installed on the motorcycle.
Notes
Always keep the battery clean.
Apply grease around the battery
terminals to prevent corrosion.
Warning
Never remove the retainer
bar (1) on the top of the cover or add
more liquid to the battery. If the block,
cover or terminals are broken or if the
valve cover has been tampered with it
is essential to change the battery
Important
If the motorcycle is left
unused for more than 30 days,
remove the battery and store it in
a safe, cool place.
Always charge the battery before
the first use and after long storage
periods - such as before selling the
vehicle.
Removing the battery
Remove the seat (Sect. E 2).
Lift the fuel tank (Sect. L 2).
Undo the screws on the terminals.
Always start with the negative
terminal.
Undo the screw (2) securing
bracket (3), remove bracket and
then remove the battery.
Refitting the battery
Refitting is the reverse of removal.
Pay particular attention to the
terminals, which should not show
any sign of oxidization. Tighten the
terminal screws to the specified
torque (Sect. C 3) and apply a
water repellent spray.

batteria
Attenzione
Prima di eseguire operazioni
sulla batteria occorre tenere presente
le relative norme di sicurezza
(Sez. A 3). Le batterie, durante la carica,
sviluppano gas infiammabili. Evitare di
esporre la batteria a scintille o fiamme
libere durante queste operazioni.
Istruzioni per l'utilizzo della
batteria
La batteria è del tipo sigillato e
completamente esente da
manutenzione, pertanto, a parte
la carica, non necessita di altre
operazioni al momento
dell'installazione sul veicolo.
Note
Mantenere sempre la batteria
pulita. Applicare grasso attorno ai
morsetti della batteria per impedire
la corrosione
Attenzione
Non rimuovere mai la barretta di
tenuta (1) posto sulla parte superiore
del coperchio o aggiungere altro fluido
alla batteria. In presenza di rotture del
monoblocco, del coperchio, dei
terminali, o manomissione del listello
copri valvola, è assolutamente
necessario sostituire la batteria.
Importante
Se il mezzo non viene utilizzato
per periodi superiori ai 30 giorni,
togliere la batteria e conservarla in
un luogo fresco e sicuro.
Ricaricare sempre la batteria prima
del primo utilizzo, e soprattutto dopo
lunghi periodi di stoccaggio (prima
della vendita del veicolo).
Smontaggio batteria
Rimuovere la sella (Sez. E 2).
Sollevare il serbatoio (Sez. L 2).
Svitare le viti sui morsetti partendo
sempre da quello negativo.
Svitare la vite (2) di fissaggio della
staffa (3), quindi rimuovere la staffa
e sfilare la batteria.
Rimontaggio batteria
Operare con sequenza inversa
rispetto alla rimozione. In particolare,
verificare che i contatti non siano
ossidati e serrare le viti dei morsetti
alla coppia prescritta (Sez. C 3),
applicando spray idrorepellente.
