Notes:
• If the TeraStation is disconnected from a Mac OS computer by a power outage or other sudden disconnect, the
database created by Mac OS may be corrupted and it may not be possible to reestablish the connection. If this
happens, select [Delete Mac OS specific files] and run the disk check.
• The message "Checking" will be displayed on the LCD panel during the disk check. The TeraStation's shared
folders cannot be accessed until the disk check is complete.
This completes the disk check procedure.
Formatting Drives
Notes:
• Formatting deletes all data from a hard drive. Be careful! Back up any important data on a drive before
formatting it.
• Shared folders cannot be accessed during formatting.
• Do not turn off the TeraStation until formatting is complete.
• Under some circumstances, data from a formatted drive can be recovered. To ensure that data is gone forever,
perform the procedure in "Erase Data on the TeraStation Completely " to completely erase the data.
