Confi gure the desired settings, then [OK].
(1) To use SSL encryption for more secure data transfers, enable [HTTPS/SSL Encryption]. When using SSL, a security
warning message may be displayed when using WebAccess, but this does not pose a problem for operation, so
you may continue with operation as usual.
(2) Enable [Buff aloNAS.com Registration].
• To use WebAccess with an external DNS server without passing through the Buff aloNAS.com server, such as
when WebAccess cannot be used due to a firewall, select [Enable] (normally, use BuffaloNAS.com). In this case,
enter the hostname of the DNS service in [Other DNS Service Hostname].
• Either use a fi xed global IP address for the TeraStation, or route the TeraStation in the DNS server.
• If using the TeraStation with NAT (where a single global IP address is shared by multiple computers) or other
private address environments, port forwarding should be confi gured in the router.
(3) Choose a "Buff aloNAS.com name" for your WebAccess account.
• Names may use 3 to 20 characters including a to z, A to Z, 0 to 9, underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
• Make a note of the name you choose. You'll use this name anytime you open a shared folder from a remote
location.
(4) If your router supports UPnP, enable [Automatic Router Setup (UPnP)].
• UPnP must be enabled in the router for this to work.
(5) Enter [NAS Internal Port] for your TeraStation on your network.
• The default port number (9000) is recommended.
(6) If [Exclusive session] is enabled, a user account cannot be used to log multiple computers in to WebAccess
simultaneously. Only the last login will be active.
(7) Enter a time in minutes (1 - 120) before inactive users are logged out of WebAccess, or select [Unlimited].

Note the Buff aloNAS.com key that is displayed when setup is fi nished. To register the same Buff aloNAS.com name
during setup of another LinkStation or TeraStation, or after initialization of the unit, enter the Buff aloNAS.com key
in the Web Admin interface.
