Use the menu system on the CD to load the device driver; alternatively, run the program
CDM_Setup.exe from the directory D:\USB Drivers\ on the CD supplied with the instrument

This will install the USB drivers. You will see the following message once this is complete.
When writing a control program for the instrument, it may be easier to use the API commands
provided by FTDI™. See their web-site for more details –

8.2.2 IEEE-488.2 interface (optional)
The IEEE-488.2 interface

requires the instrument’s bus address to correspond to the address
used by the controller (normally a PC).
The IEEE interface uses an 8-bit data bus and software protocol to transfer data in parallel.
Each instrument connected to the bus must have a unique address. This address may be
changed at any time using the
Comms menu. The CTR5000 slave bus address has a default
address of 3.
The software driver for the IEEE interface will be supplied by the PC interface card’s vendor. A
popular text based console program is supplied by National Instruments™ and an example
of the use of this is shown below –
