Operating the CTR5000

4.1

Instrument operating modes

The instrument has two operating modes –



Measurement Mode

-

displays the reading and instrument status



Menu Mode

- allows operating parameters to be viewed and changed

4.2

Measurement mode

In Measurement Mode, the screen displays the current reading (its units - resistance or
temperature); it also displays the current channel, assigned probe and the time of day. This is
the normal operating display mode for the CTR5000. The normal display will look similar to the
one shown below –

CTR5000 display screen

The currently selected channel is always shown at the top left of the display, followed by the
temperature conversion method and the number of the probe currently attached to this
channel. The unit’s symbol alternates (toggles on or off) every time a new reading is
displayed.

This display always reflects the operation of the instrument, showing the current reading and
settings. There are four

under the display. Two more
