About the CTR5000 Precision Bridge

This section introduces the features and functions of the CTR5000 Bridge. Each of the CTR5000
Bridge’s features is explained in turn. Once the CTR5000 has been set to your particular
requirements, all commonly used functions are available using the minimum number of key-
strokes.

3.1

The front panel

The front panel is shown below with the various keys and connectors –

Front panel

The graphical display is positioned approximately in the centre off the instrument with the two
input connectors to the left. The LED to the right is used to indicate status (and also that the
bridge is in standby mode - when the graphical display is in low power mode).

The various controls, connectors, displays and keys are described in detail in each of the
following sections. The four keys under the display and the two keys to the right are ‘soft-keys’
- their function varies with the instrument operating mode (whenever these keys can be used,
their current function will be displayed next to the key). Channel, probe and conversion
information is shown on the top line of the LCD.

The line underneath the result is used to display any relevant icons (LAN icon shown).
