CTR5000 Operating Instructions

ASL operating instructions, model CTR5000 

The connector is a  (1:1) 15 way socket for signal, power and data connection to the CTS5000-
8 or CTS5000-16 switchboxes. It is not compatible with any other connection. 

 

Note 

The 15 way expansion connector must only be used 

with CTS5000-8 or CTS5000-16 switchboxes. It is NOT 

compatible with SB148 & SB158 switchboxes. 

 

A 0.5m lead is supplied as standard. Longer lengths may be used, but system accuracy and 
the noise specification may be compromised.

USB Communication interface connector 

The USB connector is fitted as standard. Communication requires the installation of the USB 
driver on a PC

. See the separate information supplied on the CD and at the back of the 

manual. A standard USB cable is supplied with the instrument. 

The instrument can be controlled through simple ASCII commands and can transmit ASCII 
result-data, which may be recorded using a simple terminal program or using ASL’s ULOG 
program. 

The standard F250 command set is supported. See the section on communications for further 
details.

RS232/LAN/IEEE 488 Communication interface connector 

The CTR5000 may (optionally) be fitted with one of these interfaces. Operation is similar for all 
communication interfaces. See the chapter of communications for further details. The 
optional interface and USB connection may be used simultaneously. However, when sending 
commands to the CTR5000, operation will depend on timing and may not provide the 
expected sequence of operation.
