4.5.4 Channel selection with CTS5000-8 and CTS5000-16 switchboxes
This section applies to instruments with one or more switchboxes.
Switchboxes are detected at power-on and are daisy-chained

. Addresses are assigned in
order, so the first switchbox connected to the CTR5000 will start with the lowest address.
The LED next to the connector will be illuminated when a switchbox channel is selected.
Switchboxes need not be adjacent to the CTR5000, connections of several meters are
possible. Also, switchboxes may have several metres of cable interconnecting them.
However, signal noise may increase when long cables are used.
There are two ways of changing the current switchbox channel –
 Method A – by using numerical keypad, as described previously
 Method B – by using the Chan soft-key
 Method C – by using the Enter key on the numeric keypad
4.5.4.1 Method A
The first channel on the first switchbox starts at address 16; the first channel on the second
switchbox starts at address 32 (and so on). Switchbox addresses are assigned in the order
switchboxes are connected to the CTR5000. Unused addresses will be ignored on 8 channel
switchboxes. Addresses are –

The first switchbox connects to the CTR5000, a second to the first switchbox and so on.
