Use the editor to change the id (identifier) string. Up to 10 characters are available to use as a
probe id. Strings are empty to start with. Use the
enter key (

) to accept the change or Esc
key to leave it unchanged.
Note
The CTR5000 editor can only use numerical characters to
overwrite existing characters. However, other characters can
be entered using a data interface and the N command.
4.5.7.5 Assign to chan (Unasgn from)
Probes may be edited or set-up in any order.
A probe’s set of values will not be used until it is assigned to a channel. Once assigned, the
channel will use the programmed values every time that channel is selected.
Note that if a probe is already assigned, then this menu will instead read Unasgn from Chxx -
where the currently assigned channel xx is indicated.
Selecting the Assign to chan menu will show a screen similar to the following one –
Use the editor to set the required channel and then use the enter key (

) to accept the
value or the Esc key to leave it unchanged.
Once a probe has been assigned to a channel, the menu will change to, for example,
Unasgn from Ch01 . Selecting this menu will unassign the probe. No warning message is given
since probes are simple to assign. DIN defaults will be restored.
