4.5.7.6

Set units

Probes may have their units set. When the probe is assigned to a channel, these pre-
programmed units are selected every time the channel is changed to the one with the
assigned probe.

Selecting this menu will display –

Instrument units are the default - when selected, the CTR5000 will use the current units rather
than changing to another on channel selection. The units can still be changed from the initial
units using the

Unit

menu – there is no other significance to the setting.

Select the required unit and then use the

enter

key (



) to accept this or the

Esc

key to leave

the current state unchanged.

Finally, use the

Esc

soft-key to return to

Measurement mode

.

4.5.7.7

Set Probe Tmax

Probes may have a maximum temperature set for them (positive or negative). When the
probe is assigned to a channel, the probe’s temperature is checked against the set
maximum and a range error issued if the maximum temperature is exceed.

The temperature will still be displayed (it does not matter what the units are), but, if the buzzer
is enabled, a short, repetitive beep will be heard and the over-range icon will flash on
the line below the result and the panel LED will flash red.

Selecting this menu will show a display similar to –
