5.13.1.1 Coarse and fine metering wheel
The metering wheel consists of

a coarse metering wheel (Fig. 61/1) and

a fine metering wheel (Fig. 61/2).
Both metering wheels always rotate at the same
speed.
For seeding

with coarse metering wheels
the sliding shutters for the fine metering
wheels are closed.

with fine metering wheels
the sliding shutters for the coarse metering
wheels are closed, see section "Slide gate",
page 78.

5.13.1.2 Bean metering wheel
The bean metering wheel (Fig. 62) is used to
meter large beans and peas.
So as not to damage the seed, they are
transported by bean metering wheels with elastic
lobes made of high quality plastic.
When seeding with the bean metering wheels,
the sliding shutters of the fine metering wheels
are closed, see section "Slide gate", page 78.
The procedure for changing of the metering
wheels is described in section "Changing the
metering wheel - Seeding shaft drive with one or
two electric motors" starting on page 226.
