Star wheel spring force support

The star wheel spring force support



is deactivated on light soils



is activated on medium to heavy soils.

Activating the star wheel spring force support

1. Move the star wheel to working position,

see section 8.5, page 159.

2. Raise the seeding combination using the

tractor 3-point hydraulic system until the star
wheel is off of the ground.

3. Remove the parked linch pin (Fig. 204/1).

Fig. 204

4. Insert the linch pin (Fig. 205/1) as shown

and secure it.



The linch pin automatically engages
with the eyelet of the tension spring
(Fig. 205/2).

When lowering the seeding
combination using the tractor 3-point
hydraulic system,



the tension spring is tensioned



the star wheel spring force
support is activated (the ground
contact of the star wheel
increases).

Deactivate the star wheel spring force support in the reverse
sequence.

To do so, move the star wheel into working position and raise the
seeding combination using the tractor 3-point hydraulic system until
the star wheel is off of the ground.

If you make changes to the star wheel spring force support, the
calibration value also changes, see section "Calibration - Implements
with star wheel drive", page 82.

Recalculate the number of crank turns, and then calibrate the seed
rate with the recalculated number of crank turns.
