Preparing the device for sterile use
Asepsis caps
For sterile operation, your device can be fitted with asepsis caps (re-sterilizable
rubber caps for the surgical microscopes). ZEISS provides asepsis caps for the
operating buttons and hand grips.
The asepsis caps can be re-sterilized in an autoclave. For more detailed
information about sterilization, please refer to the enclosed “Preparation of
resterilizable products” manual for each Asepsis Set.
For the OPMI Lumera i the following asepsis caps are available (see Page 170
for ordering data):
1

2
Asepsis caps for handgrips
3

CAUTION
Risk of infection due to contamination!
•
Only use the device with suitable, sterile accessories.
•
You must clean, disinfect, and sterilize the ZEISS asepsis caps before each
use. This also applies to the first use after delivery. These procedures may
only be performed by properly trained personnel.
