Connection via beam splitter and C-mount adapter
Perform the following steps to operate the video camera via the C-mount
video objective lens:
• Unscrew the securing screw (7) by a few turns.
• Remove the binocular tube (1).
• Position the beam splitter (6) on the surgical microscope.
• Firmly tighten securing screw (8).
• Fasten the binocular tube (1) in the same way on the beam splitter (6) using
the securing screw (7).
• Loosen the knurled ring (4).
• Remove the dust cover from the mount of the beam splitter and store it
in a safe place.
• Slide the C-mount video lens (2) into the mount. Make sure that the
locating block is fed into the counterpart of knurled ring (4).
• Screw knurled ring (4) onto C-mount video objective lens (2).
• Firmly tighten knurled ring (4).
• Screw the camera head onto C-mount video objective lens (2).
Make sure that the camera image is correctly oriented!
NOTE Damage to the camera caused by wrong video lens!
• The maximum screw depth of the C-mount threading of your video lens
is 3.5 mm.
A longer thread can damage the camera and definitely results in focus
errors of the video lens.
If in doubt, please ask your local dealer or ZEISS Service which video lens
is suitable for your system.
• Before every use and after re-equipping the system, make sure that
binocular tube, C-mount video lens, and beam splitter are securely locked
in position.
• Make sure that all securing screws are firmly tightened!
