Safe operation
Electrical safety
q
The builtĆin power supply unit is shortĆcircuitĆproof and does not
contain externally accessible fuses.
q
Electrical hazards to patients and operators are eliminated if the
instrument is properly used.
q
The instrument may be opened only by persons authorized by the
manufacturer.
Light emission from the instrument
q
The instrument emits light in the visible and infrared spectral regions.
It keeps the limit values as specified by EN ISO 15004 "Ophthalmic
Instruments Fundamental requirements and test methods".
q
The limit values as specified for Class 1 laser devices by EN 60825Ć1
are kept if the instrument is operated as intended (limiting 20 axial
length measurements per eye and per day).
q
A maximum of 20 axial length measurements per eye and per day are
permitted with the IOLMaster. With proper operation of the IOLĆ
Master this value cannot be exceeded.
Operational requirements
Please take care that the following operational requirements are met
when using the IOLMaster:

Use the power cable supplied with the instrument. If the instrument
is mounted to a Carl Zeiss Meditec instrument table, it is powered
through this table.
q
The instrument is plugged into a power outlet that has a properly
connected protective earth connection.
q
All cables and plugs are in perfect working condition and secured
where provided.
q
If the protection is reduced or electrical cables are damaged,
discontinue use and take care that the instrument is not operated
inadvertently. Then, call Carl Zeiss Meditec service.
q
Do not cover any ventilation grids or slots.
