Anterior chamber depth measurement [ACD]
Note:
The keratometer measurement must be performed before anteĆ
rior chamber depth measurement!
To activate the ACD mode use the:
Ć <
space
> bar (only from [KER] mode) or the
Ć ACD button or the
Ć <
D
> key.
The system will automatically turn on lateral slit illumination. This
illumination subjectively appears to be very bright to patients. The
patient should continue looking at the yellow fixation light.
FineĆalign the instrument so that
Ć the image of the fixation point appears to be optimally sharp within
the square on the display,
Ć the image of the cornea is not disturbed by reflections,
Ć the anterior crystalline lens is optimally visible.
As a rule, the image of the fixation point lies between the images of the
cornea and the crystalline lens. It should be near (but not within) the
optical section of the crystalline lens! The corneal image is unsharp due
to system design.

Note:
The alignment of the instrument, particularly in the case of small
pupils, requires both operator practice as well as cooperativeness
of the patient. The alignment procedure is easier on a dilated pupil
(
