Activate the ALM mode using the
Ć ALM button or the
Ć <
A
> key or the
Ć (pushbutton on the joystick).
Note:
With the ALM button and the <
A
> key you can start axial length
measurements from all modes. The pushbutton on the joystick
will work only in Overview mode.
To measure aphakic or pseudophakic eyes or eyes filled with silicone,
select the corresponding mode from the
ALSettings
menu. This special
AL mode is being displayed in the video image field and will be active
until you reset it via the menu. The instrument will also be reset to the
"phakic"
mode by changing the side (other eye) or by measuring a new
patient.
Note:
In the measurement of pseudophakic eyes and with specific
intraocular lenses, two peaks may appear. The first higher peak
is a side maximum of the IOL, while the second peak is produced
by the retina. In this case, manual correction is necessary (see
evaluation of ALM results).
On activation of ALM mode, the instrument automatically changes the
magnification: a smaller section of the eye becomes visible with the
reflection of the alignment light (
2
, Fig. 16) and a vertical line (
1
, Fig. 16).
