Preparing measurements
Switching on
Turn on the power switch. The IOLMaster starts by performing a
selfĆtest. Then, the data entry screen appears (Fig. 13).

The personal data of patients not listed yet in the database (New Patient)
are to be entered via the keyboard. (Use "digits", "letters", .", -" and
"_" only; other special characters are not accepted!).
To move the text cursor to the next text box, use the <
Tab
> or

Enter
> key or the mouse.
Note:
For safety reasons, it is absolutely necessary to type in surname,
first name and date of birth. Data is saved as you type it (capital
or small letters). The date of birth is accepted in the format
mm/dd/yy and checked for plausibility. You may also enter the
year as a fourĆdigit figure (yyyy). With patients who are older than
100 years, this input format is absolutely necessary.
The entry of visual acuity data is possible only in the data format
set via
Options
- Setup / Program Settings.
