available parallel RIPs is system-dependent. Additionally, a
number of small jobs may be processed in parallel; this is called
Job Parallel RIP.
VI Object Caching: Many variable print jobs contain reusable
resources and objects. Several page description languages
support this capability and create print files with a single object
that is referenced many times throughout the document.
Optimized PDF, Optimized PostScript, PPML, and VIPP use this
concept to minimize file size and maximize RIP speeds.
Manipulating jobs in the main job window
Within the main Job Manager window, you can perform a variety
of activities, including holding, proofing, saving, interrupting, and
printing a job, as will as moving a job up in the queue.
How do I hold a job?
To hold a job:
1. Open the Job Manager
2. Right-click on the job you wish to hold.
3. Select [Hold] from the context menu. The job will be removed
from the Active Jobs list and will be placed in the Inactive Jobs
list.
NOTE: You must be logged in as an Administrator or Operator
to perform this task.
How do I proof a job?
To proof a job:
1. Open the Job Manager
2. Right-click on the job you wish to proof.
3. Select [Proof] from the context menu. The job will start to RIP
and will print as soon as any currently-printing jobs are
completed.

To save a job:
1. Open the Job Manager
2. Right-click on the job you wish to save.
3. Select [Properties...] from the context menu. The Job
