d. Select [OK].
5. Select [Override] if you want settings to take precedence over
any resolution settings associated with individual jobs.
6. DocuSP enables VIPP users to automatically load and access
the required start string for VIPP jobs. The initialization file can
be established for a particular queue or on a per-job basis.
–
Specify VIPP settings for the Initialization File by selecting
from the Initialization file pull-down menu.
–
Select [Override] if you want this setting to take
precedence over any file settings associated with
individual jobs.
NOTE: The VIPP start command must be placed in the /
var/spool/XRXps/vipp directory, and must have the lower
case ending of “.ini”. A DocuSP restart must be performed.
The queue PDL default must be set to PostScript. The
VIPP start command must be submitted (or queue override
set) to automatically append the VIPP initialization file. You
can select which initialization files to apply to subsequent
jobs.
More Information...
Variable Data Internet PostScript PrintWare (VIPP) “Variable
Object Caching” allows a job to cycle through common forms
without negatively impacting performance due to the overhead
of decomposing the form for each page or instance. In other
words, if the user wishes to reuse a variety of forms without
“RIPping” them each time, they can set up a “VIPP cache”
queue to reuse desired document objects that exist in a “post-
RIP” state.
DocuSP enables VIPP users to automatically load and access
the required start string for VIPP jobs. The initialization file can
be established for a particular queue or on a per-job basis.
7. In the Protection field set the desired decomposer state.
–
Protected: A protected queue does not allow any changes
made by the PostScript markup to remain in effect or
persist once the job has completed. This option ensures
that all jobs sent to the queue are decomposed as
expected.
–
Unprotected: An unprotected queue allows changes
made by the PostScript markup to remain in effect or
persist once the job has completed. These changes are
applied to all following jobs and may affect how the job
prints.
