NOTE: The following conditions apply to Duplicate Job Name
Resolution:
–
Options are applied only to the local drive.
–
The system logs document when a job has been
replaced and when new versions are created.
–
The job format is not considered and file extensions
are ignored when comparing job names. MyJob in PDF
format is considered the same job name as MyJob in
TIFF format.
•
Auto Generate Name Extension: Allows you to save
multiple versions a job that have the same name. This is
accomplished by adding a new version number to the job
title. Job numbers are a maximum three digits. Numbers
are attached to the job incrementally with leading zeros. If
a job titled MyJob.ps.frf is already in the Save directory and
you want to save it as a different job because you changed
some attributes, the job title is saved automatically as
MyJob.ps.001.frf, followed by MyJob.ps.002.frf, etc. No
confirmation or warning message is displayed.
•
Overwrite Job: Automatically replaces the existing
version of the job with the new version. All remnants of the
older job are removed from the system. No confirmation or
warning message is displayed.
Overwrite Job supports the following formats:
–
Scanning Service with job ticket: PDF, single-page
TIFF, and multi-page TIFF.
–
Copy Service with job ticket: Multi-page TIFF.
–
Print Processing with or without job ticket: PDF, single-
page TIFF, and multi-page TIFF, Fast Reprint Format
(FRF).
•
Fault Job: This is the default selection. Fault Job does not
permit a job to be saved using the same name. If an
attempt is made to save a job with the same name as one
already in the save directory, a fault message displays.
You must change the name of the job to one that is not
currently in the save directory in order to continue the save
process.
5. When the desired location is displayed in the Parent Directory
field, select [OK].
Unless the user enters a different save directory path, all jobs with
destinations of Save are saved to the selected locations.
