Loading Paper in Tray 6
Tray 6 is an optional, high-capacity, dedicated paper tray. It is on the left side of the printer. The basic
configuration holds only A4-size (210 x 297 mm) or Letter-size (8.5 x 11 in.) paper. The tray capacity is
3300 sheets.
Notes:
•
If the narrow short-edge feed conversion kit is installed, the tray feeds A4-size (210 x 297 mm),
Letter-size (8.5 x 11 in.) or Legal-size (8.5 x 14 in.) paper.
•
If the wide short-edge feed conversion kit is installed, the tray feeds A3-size (297 x 420 mm) or
Tabloid-size (11 x 17 in.) paper.
•
The tray has a capacity of 1250 sheets when either of the conversion kits are installed.
•
The Tray 6 conversion kits are not supported on all printers. For more information, refer to
Printer Configurations and Options
on page 266.
The control panel displays a warning message when the paper in the tray is in short supply, or when the
tray is empty.
To change the paper size, refer to
Configuring Tray 6
on page 32.

Open the door to Tray 6.
2.
Wait for the tray to lower and stop.
