Tip:
The seal-wash routine is self-priming. Nevertheless, using a syringe to
draw seal wash through the system hastens the process.
To prime the seal-wash system:
1. Remove the seal wash outlet tubing from the seal wash waste fitting (on
the right-hand side of the drip tray).
2. Push the syringe plunger fully into the syringe barrel.
3. Connect the tubing adapter to the syringe, and then connect the syringe
assembly to the seal wash system’s outlet tubing.
4. In the ACQUITY Console, from the system tree, select Isocratic Solvent
Manager.
5. Click Control > Prime seal wash, and then click Yes to begin the seal
wash priming process.
6. Slowly draw back on the syringe plunger, to pull solvent through the
system.
7. When the seal wash solution begins to flow into the syringe with
relatively few air bubbles, click Control > Prime seal wash, to stop the
priming process.
8. Disconnect the tubing from the syringe assembly, and reconnect it to the
fitting on the drip tray.
