5.0 Home Menu and Assign Test Mode
When the unit is powered on the Utilities Settings Menu is displayed on the screen.
TX300S and TX300M Home Menu
TX300/e Home Menu
On TX300S and TX300M the screen has two presentation areas:
1. Left:
Tools:
IP Tools, Net Wiz, WiFi Wiz, Advanced (Fiber Scope, WiFi SA, Signature Pad, Optical Power Meter, High Precision Clock Source), Browser
Utilities:
Settings, Help, Backlight, VeEXPRESS
Files:
Saved, USB, Manage
2. Right:
Screen displays the specific tabs, information for the Left Menu item selected. By default it displays the Utilities Settings Menu with the following tabs:

Bluetooth
Power
Backlight
Global
Date & Time
Remote Access
On TX300/e the screen is divided into three presentation areas:
1 - Left:
LEDs:
Displays soft LEDs associated with Errors and Alarms.
Tools:
IP connection status, Advanced IP features (Net Wiz, WiFi Wiz, VoIP, and IPTV applications).
Utilities:
Applications (Help, Settings, Files) which are common to all VePAL handheld test sets.
Files:
Saved, USB, Manage.
2 - Middle:
Test Applications specific to the test set (Setup, Results, Alarm/Error, SDH/SONET Tools, PDH Tools, DS3/1 Tools, OTN Tools, Profiles).
3 - Right:
Test Port:
Selects the test port.
Alarm/Err:
Shortcut menu that directs to the Alarm/Error page. Alternatively, this can be accessed by tapping on the middle Alarm/Error icon.
Laser On/Off:
Enables/Disables the Laser transmitter on optical ports (SFP or XFP).
MX Discover:
Enables the test set to discover other test sets for loopback.
