Possible Causes
Cause 1: The power module fails
Cause 2: The power module is protected
Fault Diagnosis
A flow chart to help diagnose amber power on/alarm indications is planned for a
future release of this document.
Procedure
Cause 1: One or two power modules fail
1. Determine whether one or two power supply modules have an amber LED.
You should replace any power module that is not functioning properly.
If the indicator of one module is amber while the other module’s LED is
green, NetBackup 5220 function is normal although data/operate is at risk
if the second module fails.
TBD If both indicators are amber, proceed with Cause 2.
1.
Remove a nonfunctioning (amber LED) power supply by moving the
spring leaf on the right side of the module and firmly grasping the handle.
2.
Pull gently until the module releases.
3.
Insert a new power module and press the spring leaf into place. Make sure
the new module is seated firmly and evenly.
4.
Connect an AC power cable into the power socket of the module.
If the indicator is green, the fault is removed.
If the fault persists, contact technical support.
