NetBackup 5220 front panel
Letter Description
A Flex Bay – Tape drive or two fixed 2.5” hard (or boot) disk drives
B Slimline Optical Drive Bay (not operational for the NetBackup
5220)
C 2.5” SAS Hard Disk Drive Bays, labeled 0-7 from left to right, with
bay 7 containing the spare disk.
Installing and Removing a Hot-swap 2.5-inch Hard
Drive
You can install up to eight hot-swap 2.5-inch SAS drives.
Cautions:
If you install less than eight drives or devices, empty drive bays must
be occupied by carriers with baffles or with a filler panel provided for drive
locations 6 and 7 to maintain proper air flow within the chassis.
To avoid possible damage to your device, do not use older style drive carriers.
Note:

Installing a Hot-swap SAS Hard Disk Drive
You can install up to eight hot-swappable 1TB 2.5” SAS hard disk drive modules in
the front panel of the NetBackup 5220. The disk drive and the carrier the contains it
