SAS cable connection to NetBackup 5220
The Symantec Storage Shelf functions as a disk expansion device to the
NetBackup 5220. CLI software on the NetBackup 5220 can scan disks on
the storage shelf, providing activity status.
Two SAS cables connect the devices, per the following instructions.
1.
Verify that both devices are securely fastened in the rack
cabinet.
2.
The devices can be connected while the power is on.
It is recommended that both devices are plugged into two
AC power sources to maintain redundancy.
3.
Connect one SAS cable to the SAS IN port of I/O Module 1
(primary I/O module) on the Symantec Storage Shelf.
4.
Connect the other end of that cable to one port of the RAID
card in slot 5 on the rear panel of the NetBackup 5220.
5.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 with the other SAS cable.
