Removing and re-installing the baffles
Removing the fan baffle
You may need to remove or loosen the fan baffle to remove the fan module.
To remove the fan baffle:
1.
Remove the hook on the front of the baffle from the hole in the backplane
board.
2.
Slide the baffle out in the direction shown.
3.
Pull up on it.
Re-installing the fan baffle
To re-install the fan baffle:
1. Lower the baffle into the server system and position the baffle into
the slot between fans 3 and 6 (to the left of the bridge board) and the
backplane.
2.
Orient the baffle such that the foam edges of the baffle contact the
backplane and the bottom of the chassis.
3.
Install the baffle making sure the hook on the front of the baffle is
inserted into the corresponding hole in the backplane board.
Removing the air baffle
Before removing the air baffle, note the routing of the cables over and under the air
baffle (if any). You may need to move these cables when removing the baffle and then
replace the cables later.
1. Pull up on the air baffle to remove it. You may need to remove or hold
cables out of the way.
Re-installing the air baffle
To re-install the large air baffle:
1. Lower the baffle into the server system and snap into the server
board standoff.
2. While setting the baffle into place, replace the cables beneath it
appropriately.
