3.
Select
New Folder
. The NAS page expands to show options for the new
folder.
4.
If there are multiple NAS volumes configured on the nTier500, select
the
Location
corresponding to the drive letter of the NAS volume where
you want to create the folder.
5.
Type the name for the new folder in the
Folder Name
field.
Note:
Some Microsoft-specific applications require using Windows
naming conventions. Also, NFS does not allow spaces in share
names. As a result, any spaces in the folder name are replaced by
underscores in the corresponding NFS share name. This
limitation does not apply to CIFS shares.
For example, for an NFS folder named
Share One
, the
corresponding NFS share is named
Share_One
in both
Windows Explorer and through the BlueScale web interface.
6.
Select the
Share Type
for the folder.
Figure 51
The New Folder options on the NAS page.
This Share Type...

CIFS only
Windows environment. This is the default share type.
NFS only
UNIX and Linux environments.
CIFS and NFS
Both a Windows environment and in UNIX and Linux environments.
