4.
Double-click on the connection corresponding to the Ethernet port you
plan to use to access the BlueScale web interface to display the
Connection Status window.
5.
Select the
Support
tab to view the current IP address for the Ethernet
port.
6.
If desired, select
Properties
on the
General
tab and configure a static IP
address for the Ethernet port you are using as required for your
environment. Refer to the Windows operating system documentation
for instructions.
Note:
After connecting to the BlueScale web interface for the first time,
you can configure the IP addressing using that interface (see
Configuring Network Connections on page 75
).
7.
If necessary, add the nTier500 to the domain for the network to which it
is connected. Contact your network administrator for assistance, if
needed.
Use the Operator Panel
Note:
The nTier500 no longer includes an operator panel on the front
cover. These instructions are included for legacy support only.
If you connected Ethernet port 1 to an Ethernet network with a DHCP
server, the IP address displays on the operator panel. If your network does
not use a DHCP server, use the operator panel to configure a static (fixed)
IP address for Ethernet port 1 as described in this section. See
Using the
Operator Panel on page 61
for additional information.
1.
Identify an available IP address on your network that can be used to
access the nTier500 through a standard web browser. Make a note of
the Subnet Mask and Gateway for that IP address.
2.
Using the
<
button on the operator panel,
select the IP icon (a blue globe) at the bottom
of the display. The screen changes to show the
current IP address information, with DHCP
displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
If the nTier500 was not able to obtain an IP
address, it uses 0.0.0.0 for the IP address.
Note:
If your network uses DHCP, the IP
address, along with the Subnet and
Gateway addresses will display on the
IP Configuration screen.
3.
Change the IP addressing to STATIC.
