Download and Install the Updated Firmware
If there is a more current version of the firmware available, you will be
given download instructions for the firmware when you request the
update from Spectra Logic Technical Support. Use the following steps to
download the updated firmware.
1. Download the file containing current firmware package from the
location provided by Spectra Logic Technical Support and save it to one
of the following:
ƒ
A USB drive
ƒ
A previously configured package server that is accessible from the
nTier500.
2. Log into the nTier500 BlueScale web interface (see Accessing the
BlueScale Web Interface on page 60 ).
3. If you saved the firmware file to a USB drive, connect it to one of the
USB ports on the nTier500.
4. Select Maintenance > Package Update to display the Package Update
page.
5. If you saved the firmware file to a package server, enter the URL in the
Scan this web page for remote packages text field and click Save . The
nTier500 scans the specified location for available firmware packages.
Note: The default package server is the nTier downloads page on the
Spectra Logic web site (http://support.spectralogic.com/ nTier/
download). Downloading firmware from this default package
server is not currently supported.
