Remove Current Drivers or Devices
If you previously installed device drivers for your tape drives using the
wizard in Windows Device Manager, use the following steps to remove the
drivers. Otherwise, skip to
Install the Updated Device Driver
.
1.
Connect to the Windows operating system on the nTier500, if you are
not already connected (see
Accessing the Windows Operating System
on page 67
).
2.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder containing the
extracted drivers files. For example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SpectraLogic\drivers\IBM LTO Tape Drives
\IBMTape.x64_6204
3.
Double click the
uninst.exe
file to run the driver uninstall utility.

Open the Device Manager and uninstall any of the following devices, if
present:

Restart the nTier500 (see
Restart or Shut Down the nTier500 on
page 93
).
Install the Updated Device Driver
Note:
If the Windows Add New Hardware Wizard starts, ignore or
close it. The installation script for the device driver automatically
manages the wizard.

Connect to the Windows operating system on the nTier500, if you are
not already connected (see
Accessing the Windows Operating System
on page 67
).
2.
Open a Command Prompt window and change to the folder containing
the extracted drivers file.
