Backing Up and
Restoring Handset Data
Handset features an automatic backup
system that backs up your Web browser
bookmarks, messages, dictionary, and
settings, to memory card.
Checking If Automatic Backup is
Enabled

Check “Back up my data &
settings” box
Restoring Backed Up Data to
Handset
After a factory reset or update, you will be
asked if you want to restore backed up data
next time handset powers on.

Factory data reset ＞ Reset phone
3.
Confirmation screen appears,
Erase everything
4.
Wait for handset to restart, “ 私の
データと設定を復元 ” (Restore my
data and settings) dialog box ＞

Tutorials and guides appear to set up
handset. Follow the onscreen
instructions and tap
Finish .
Software Updates
Check for firmware updates and download
as required.
● The data communication fee applies to
download of the software updating data. The
data communication fee may vary depending
on your contract or plan.
● Handset is designed to automatically perform
communications for software updates, and to
maintain a connection with the server, etc.
Therefore, the use of packet flat-rate services
such as “Unlimited Packet Discount” is highly
recommended.
● Handset is disabled until update is complete.
Update may take up to approximately 30
minutes.
● Fully charge battery beforehand.
● Select a place where signal is strong and
stable.
● Other functions are not available during
software update.
● Make sure you back up important information
and data (note that some files cannot be
copied) before you start updating handset.
SoftBank Mobile is not liable for damages
resulting from loss of data, information, etc.
● Do not remove battery during the update.
Update will fail.
● Software update failure may disable handset.
