• You know how to set up the parameters for serial and local area network (LAN)
communication.
• The vessel is berthed or at sea.
• All relevant vessel drawings, installation reports and/or measurement results are
available.
• The SC90 is turned on, and it is working normally.
Neither tools nor instruments are required.
Context
A motion reference unit (MRU) measures the vessel’s pitch and roll movements in the
sea. The information provided by the motion sensor is used by the SC90 to stabilize the
echo presentation.
These communication parameters are defined for the motion sensor.

Some instruments may offer other parameters and/or choices. You must always check
the relevant documentation provided by the manufacturer.
Procedure
1 Select the
Setup
tab to open the menu.
2 Select
Test
on the
Setup
menu to open the
System Test
menu.
a Write down the roll compensation value in the
Roll
"button".
b Write down the pitch compensation value in the
Pitch
"button".
3 Open the
Installation
menu.
a Select the
Setup
tab to open the menu.
b Select
Test
on the
Setup
menu to open the
System Test
menu.
c Select
Installation menu
to open the menu.
d Observe that the
Installation
menu opens across the top of the SC90
presentation.
4 On the
Installation
menu, select
Installation
→
I/O Setup
→
Sensors
.
a On the submenu, select
Stabilization
.
• If you wish to use the internal sensor, select
Transceiver 1
.
• If you wish to use an external motion reference unit (MRU), select
External
.
If the internal sensor is used, the communication parameters are defined by
the SC90 software.
