Environmental inspection of the Transceiver Unit
Satisfactory environmental conditions are important to ensure long and trouble-free
operation of the Transceiver Unit. An environmental inspection of the Transceiver Unit
is required to verify the quality of the sonar room.
Prerequisites
The SC90 is installed as specified in this manual. You need the following equipment:
• Thermometer
• Hygrometer
Context
The sonar room is the compartment in which the Transceiver Unit is installed.
Procedure
1 Make sure that the compartment ("sonar room") in which the Transceiver Unit is
installed is clean and dry.
2 Make sure that the ambient temperature in the sonar room meets the environmental
specifications.
a Make sure that the temperature in the sonar room is controlled using a suitable
ventilation system.
Record the type of ventilation system that is installed.
b Make sure that the temperature in the sonar room is monitored.
c Measure the ambient temperature in the sonar room when the SC90 is switched
off.
d 30 minutes after the SC90 has been switched on and put to normal operation,
measure the ambient temperature one more time.
Record the values in the result table.
3 Make sure that the relative humidity in the sonar room meets the environmental
specifications.
a Measure the relative humidity in the sonar room.
b 30 minutes after the SC90 has been switched on and put to normal operation,
measure the relative humidity one more time.
Record the values in the result table.
4 Make sure that the sonar room, the SC90 Transceiver Unit and the mounting
brackets have not bee subjected to corrosive attacks.
