Top cowling

Checking the top cowling
1.
Check the fitting by pushing the cowling
with both hands. Adjust if necessary.
2.
Loosen the bolts

Move the hook

up or down slightly to
adjust its position.
NOTE:
•
To loosen the fitting, move the hook in
direction

•
To tighten the fitting, move the hook in
direction

4.
Tighten the bolts.
5.
Check the fitting again and, if necessary,
repeat steps 2
–

6.
Check the top cowling hoses. Replace if
cracked or damaged.
Fuel system

Checking the fuel joint and fuel hose
(fuel joint-to-fuel injector)
1.
Remove the flywheel magnet cover, port
intake manifold, and fuel rail covers.
NOTE:
See the exploded diagram (4-12, 4-26).

Check the low-pressure fuel hose con-
nections. Also, check the fuel filter

check valve

, and fuel cooler

Replace if there is leakage or deteriora-
tion.

Check the high-pressure fuel hose con-
nections. Also, check the vapor separa-
tor

, pressure regulator

and fuel injectors

. Replace if there is
leakage or deterioration.
4.
Install the port intake manifold, fuel rail
covers, and flywheel magnet cover.
