NOTE:

•

Apply gear oil to the needle bearing outer
case before installation.

•

The needle bearing contains 24 rollers.

Assembling the forward gear

1.

Install a new taper roller bearing into the
forward gear using a press.

Assembling the drive shaft housing

1.

Install the needle bearing into the drive
shaft housing to the specified depth.

2.

Apply grease to the new oil seals, and
then install them into the drive shaft
housing to the specified depth.

NOTE:

Install an oil seal halfway into the drive shaft
housing, then the other oil seal.

Installing the drive shaft

1.

Install the forward gear into the lower
case.
