The network system administrator can confirm whether a sent mail has been received correctly or not.

1. Send request for confirmation of mail reception. To enable or disable this request (known as
MDN): TX Mode> Reception Notice
2. Mail reception (receive confirmation request)
3. Send confirmation of mail reception
4. Receive confirmation of mail reception
The other party's machine will not respond to the request unless the two conditions below are met:
• The other party's machine must be set up to respond to the confirmation request.
• The other party's machine must support MDN (Message Disposition Notification).
- Setting up the Receiving Party -
The receiving party will respond to the confirmation request if:
1. The "Disposition Notification To" field is in the received mail header (automatically inserted in the
4th line in the upper table on the previous page, if MDN is enabled), and
2. Sending the disposition notification must be enabled (User Parameter Setting SW21 (15 [H]) Bit 1
for this model). The content of the response is as follows:
Normal reception:
"Return Receipt (dispatched)" in the Subject line
IFAX SW02 (Bit 2, 3)
