Any end-effector should operate within both the on-axis and off-axis boundaries. If the maximum
reach of the robot is greater than 1 m or for regions where
express
is not recommended, the speed
ratio should not be set to greater than 0.6. You are free to set the speed ratio up to 1 in any other
regions. In the experiments that Figures 6 and 7 are based upon, acceleration affects the robot per-
formance more significantly than speed ratio. That is why speed ratio is not used as a variable.
We do not recommend users to attach exceptionally long end-effectors to the end of the arm. If the
offset distance is too large, the actuators are more susceptible to physical damage when the robot
is powered off or when it accidentally hits an obstacle while running a task. For example, if you have
an end-effector that reaches 50 cm from the J6 axis, you can over-torque the J4 actuator and phys-
ically damage it by applying 13 N of force to the tip of the end-effector.
