Sending Documents
Chapter 4
Setting the Document on the Unit
You can place a document for sending in the Automatic Document
Feeder (ADF), or on the platen glass. Select the method you wish to use,
depending on your document.
Setting the Document in the Automatic Document
Feeder (ADF)
Use the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) when sending a multipage
document where the pages are of a standard weight and size.
Do not set the following documents in the Automatic Document Feeder
(ADF) as these can become jammed. Set such documents on the platen
glass rather than in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
Wrinkled or creased
paper
Torn paper
Very curled paper
Coated paper
Documents with
sections pasted on
Non-carbon-backed
carbon paper
Paper with binding glue
still attached to the edges

Make sure the document contains no paper clips or staples.

The ink on the document must be dry before sending.
❏
All pages of a document must be the same size and thickness.
