What Happens to Memory after a Power Cut
If power is suddenly lost due to an outage or accidental unplugging, a
built-in battery retains the user data settings and the speed dialling
settings. Any sent or received documents stored in memory are also
retained for approximately three hours by this back-up function.
During a power cut, functions are limited as follows:
❏
You cannot make or receive telephone calls.
❏
You cannot copy, send, or receive documents.
How Your Registered Data Is Protected
During a power cut or when the power is turned off, data is saved under
the following conditions:
❏
Documents received in memory or stored in memory for sending are
retained for approximately three hours. If the power remains off for
more than three hours and the data is lost, a Memory Clear Report is
printed out when the power comes on again and lists the data that
was erased. Note that if the paper has run out, no Memory Clear
Report is printed.
❏
The storage of user data settings and the speed dialling entries is
powered by a built-in lithium battery.
n
When a large volume of documents is stored in memory, the unit takes
some time (about five minutes) to recover and function normally after
power is restored.
