Original jam on the scan station
Introduction
The scan process stops if an error occurs in the automatic document feeder. An
error screen appears. The scan station moves all correctly scanned sheets to the
original receiving tray. The error screen displays a photo or picture with all the
areas that you must inspect. The lower part of the screen shows instructions.
The print process on the print station continues until there are no more jobs in
the job queue.
If the error is solved and the operator has reloaded the remaining originals, the
system continues the job that was scanning before the error.
Double sheet detection on the scan station
If the system detects any double sheets, the output of the originals stops. An
error screen appears. The messages on the screen explain what you must do.
For example, if 'Double sheet detection' is 'On' and a double sheet is detected
(a paste-up original will result in a double sheet detection) while you scan a
subset, the following message is displayed on the screen.
'Turn off double sheet detection for this job?'
Then you decide to

switch off double sheet detection for this subset
■
switch off double sheet detection for this job
■
scan again with double sheet detection on ('No').
If 'Double sheet detection' is 'On' and a double sheet is detected after you
start (
) a copy job or a scan to mailbox job (no set-build), the following
message is displayed on the screen.
'Turn off double sheet detection for this job?'
Then you decide to switch off the double sheet detection for this job or not.
How to clear an original jam on the Scan station

Read the information on the screen.

Reload the remaining originals that did not reach the original receiving tray.
