Hydraulics
Key, 1, will push out of worm, 2, and against opposite
end of case as shaft is inserted. Pull shaft back slightly
until sufficient space is available for second spacer. Use
a screw driver to move key back into worm, if
necessary. Position spacer between case and worm
and push shaft completely in until the snap ring contacts
the case.
Step 9: Place cover on case and secure with bolts and
washers. Torque bolts to 47 - 53 Nm (35 - 39 Ib - ft).
Installation
Step 1: Apply anti - seize compound to the pilot hole in the
drawbar. Place gearbox in position on drawbar. Be sure
dowel pins are in holes in drawbar.
Step 2: Install mounting bolts, 1, and washers through
drawbar into gearbox. Torque bolts to 203 - 216 Nm
(150 - 160 Ib - ft).
NOTE: It may be necessary to draw the gearbox against
the drawbar with the mounting bolts.
Step 3: Install washer, 1, and pinion gear, 2, on output
shaft Chamfer on washer should be against pinion gear.
Place shims, 3, and retainer plate, 4, over shaft to
provide 0.000
- 0.381 mm (0.000 - 0.015 in.) clearance
between retainer plate and end of pinion shaft Torque
retainer plate bolts, 5, to 47
- 61 Nm (35 - 45 Ib - ft).
