Voyager Reference Guide
UDP
User Datagram Protocol.
A protocol that allows an application on one
machine to send a short datagram to an application on another machine. UDP
contains an exact-port address.
Voyager
Nokia Voyager software
. Nokia's Voyager software that communicates with
its routing software element, Ipsilon Routing Daemon (IPSRD) to configure
interface hardware, set routing protocols and routing policies, and monitor
routing traffic and protocol performance.
VPI / VCI
Virtual Path Identifier/Virtual Circuit Identifier.
Two fields (eight-bit
identifiers) used in an Asynchronous Transfer Mode packet to distinguish a
semi-permanent connection destination.
VRRP
Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol.
A means by which a router can
automatically assume responsibility for forwarding IP traffic that was sent to a
default router's address when the default router fails.
