Troubleshooting
Restricted, RESTRICTED
Description: Restricted Mode enabled. Controller runs but will not accept hall calls. Mode exited by entering
Restricted Mode Key as described in document 42-IS-0144,
Restricted Mode Instruction for iControl Users .
Obtain Restricted Mode Key from MCE Credit Department at (916) 463-9582. Please provide job number and
car identifier.
R DR CLS FLT REC FAIL . See Rear Door Close Fault Recovery Failure
Retiring Cam Door Lock Fault Activated, Retiring Cam Door Lock Fault, RETIRING CAM DLK FLT
Description: Door locks failed to make up within user-adjustable time after user adjustable number of
attempts to lock doors. Detected on cars equipped with retiring cam door lock mechanism.
Car Reaction: Car is taken out of service and doors re-open fully. Doors can be closed with constant pressure
on door close button.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check door locks and retiring cam circuitry.
2. Verify related user-defined parameters are correct.
3. Cleared by mode of operation change or if doors closed with constant pressure on door closed button.

Retiring Cam Protection Fault Activated, Retiring Cam Protection Fault, RET CAM PROTECTIN FLT
Description: Retiring cam output activated for user-adjustable time after doors successfully locked. Moni-
tored in event car fails to reach destination.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop if car is traveling when fault is detected. Car is taken out of service. If car is at
a landing, doors shall re-open fully.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check the door locks and the retiring cam circuitry.
2. Verify that the related parameters are correct.
3. This fault is cleared by any mode of operation change or by the iBox Fault Reset button.
Retiring Cam Protection Fault Deactivated . See Retiring Cam Protection Fault Activated
Sabbath Operation Activated, Sabbath Operation, SABBATH OPERATION . Elevator operating in Sab-
bath mode initiated by software command, switched input or timer. Sabbath mode allows elevator to operate
without requiring button presses for hall calls or car calls. Car behavior determined by parameters on Car
Operation Configuration > Sabbath tab.
Sabbath Operation Deactivated . See Sabbath Operation Activated.
Safety A Contract Overspeed Fault, SPA COS FAULT
Description: Contract Overspeed setting exceeded (iView, Safety Configuration screen). May be bypassed on
Diagnostics > Fault Bypass tab.
Car Reaction: Emergency Stop: Motor contactor and brake contactor immediately dropped.
Troubleshooting:
1. Fault will automatically clear 5 seconds after car stops. The car is then allowed to run again.
2. Check contract overspeed parameter (iView/Safety Configuration/General).
Safety A DETS Level 2 Speed Fault, SPA DETS L2 SPEED FLT
Description: Car contacted Down Emergency Terminal Switch while traveling at over 95% of contract speed.
This fault may be bypassed on the Diagnostics > Fault Bypass tab.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop: Motor contactor and brake contactor immediately dropped.
Troubleshooting:
1. The fault will automatically clear 5 seconds after the car stops. The car is then allowed to run again.
2. Check for the proper positioning of the DETS switch in the hoistway.
